Sacred support for life’s most profound crossings
Why Rosie’s Lighthouse
The name Rosie carries four generations of family meaning, spanning a great-grandmother, a home, a daughter's name and a beloved childhood teddy. A lighthouse illuminates the way through troubled waters or difficult times and that is what we do at Rosie’s Lighthouse, we help you navigate life and living at a time that is often turbulent and full of unexpected challenges.
Rosie's Lighthouse exists because dying is one of the most human experiences there is, and most people face it without enough of, or the right kind of support. Rosie's Lighthouse is a personalised end-of-life doula service that guides individuals and families through practical, emotional and legacy building aspects of dying.
One trusted, consistent person handles everything, so clients, families and friends do not have to face the process alone or manage multiple providers.
When someone is nearing the end-of-life, the experience can feel fragmented. Medical appointments, family conversations, practical decisions, emotional weight, it often falls on the people who are already stretched thin. An end-of-life doula brings all of that together by being a non-medical support person.
Unlike medical professionals who focus on treatment and symptom management, a doula focuses on the whole picture, your comfort, your wishes and the wellbeing of everyone around you. We sit with you in the hard conversations; help you make sense of your options and make sure nothing important gets missed or left to chance. A doula will focus on providing calm, emotional, spiritual and practical support and presence.
At Rosie's Lighthouse, we offer genuine end-to-end support. One consistent presence, across every aspect of end-of-life care, from the earliest planning conversations right through to after death support for your family.
How this helps those caring?
Caring for a loved one at the end of their life is both emotionally and physically demanding. An end-of-life doula helps to provide a sounding board for the hard decisions and can offer non-judgmental guidance. Rosie’s Lighthouse doulas will offer you support, dignity, integrity and respect that is guided by your wishes at your pace.
